Facials and Peels

Regular facials can help keep your skin clear and beautiful

All facials are customized according to your specific needs. Every facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin.

For every facial, we first analyze your skin and choose the right products and treatment for your skin type (dry, oily, combination, or normal) and skin conditions (acne, sensitive skin, aging, sun-damaged, dehydration, etc.).

After your facial, U Spa will provide you with recommendations and advice on skin care products, but will not obligate you in buying any.

FAQ

What are the signs of a good aesthetician?
  • Someone who is skilled, experienced, has good "hands" and is a stickler for sanitation.
  • The aesthetician that gives you a facial customized to your skin needs.
  • A good Aesthetician recognizes skin problems that require a dermatologist. If you have a problem that needs a medical doctor, the aesthetician lets you know.
  • She asks about your home skin care routine.
  • Advises you on how to take care of your skin between facials.
  • She advises you on what products are best suited for your skin without being pushy.
  • Can answer any questions you have about the treament performed.
How often should I get a facial?
It varies from person to person and also depends on the regime at home. Ideally, a facial monthly because that's how long it takes the skin to regenerate. Try to have a facial at least four times a year, as the season changes. You may need it more frequently if you are trying to clear up a case of acne, especially at the beginning. Otherwise, once a month is plenty. You can overdo it, especially if you have sensitive skin.
What are the differences between a glycol acid peel and a chemical acid peel?
  • The Hydroxyacid (AHA) or Glycolic Acid is the gentlest of peels requiring little or no recovery time.
  • The Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) and Jessner's Peels are true chemical peels usually requiring a week to ten days of recovery time.
What improvements can I expect from a chemical peel?
Softening of fine lines and wrinkles and a more refined skin texture. Levelling of acne scars and fading of hyper-pigmentation. A noticeable freshness and youthful glow!
What should I know before a peel treatment?
  • Two weeks prior to your first treatment, your technician will recommend a daily treatment regimen of skin preparation products.
  • You should also stop using any products like Retin-A prior to a peel.
What kind of discomfort will I feel or side effects?
  • Your skin may be slightly pink and tight post peel.
  • You may experience some mild discomfort and a gradual tightening that eventually leads to peeling of the skin. Peeling is expected and desired.
